A carrion crow looks like a large crow with a two-foot body and a wingspread of nearly five feet; it has a wickedly serrated beak and dull red eyes. Carrion crows are created when a necromancer captures an undead shadow and magically divides its essence up among a murder of normal crows. Newly created carrion crows are under the control of the necromancer that created them, however as the infusion of shadow spirit makes them effectively immortal it is not uncommon for carrion crows to outlive their masters. Carrion crows have no way to breed true in the wild mating between carrion crows always produces crows of the normal sort.

COMBAT

Carrion crows attack by swooping down and biting with their serrated beaks. They hunt anything their size or smaller, and murders have been known to go after much larger prey if it looks weakened.

Temorary Strength damage (Su): Any creature hit by a carrion crows bite suffers one point of temporary strength damage, creatures reduced to 0 strength are helpless until a strength of at least one is regained. Lost strength returns at the rate of 1 point per day.

Skills: Carrion crows get a +4 racial bonus to spot checks. They also get a +4 racial bonus to hide checks in areas of darkness and shadow (not included above).

Feats: Carrion Crows get Alertness as a bonus feat.
