15/Feb/2002 - Quick Update

Along with the hosting move (the new URL is www.blacksway.net/unreal) I obviously have a new email address - sam@blacksway.net

 

You can still get to my site using www.unreality.dk/blacksway which just redirects here but the email doesn't work any more.

 

Also now I'm hosted I might set up several pages as being database driven so look forward to new features and updates.

 
30/Jan/2002 - Long time no update... and a little sideways movement...

Well the really observant of you might have noticed that Blacksway's has now moved. I've got my own domain and hosting which is just as well as unreality have just stopped hosting (actually a coincidence, but a good one)

 

Obviously we're all excited about the upcoming Unreal Warfare powered games, Unreal II, UT II and Duke Nukem to name but a few. In readiness for this I plan to overhaul the web-site and maybe update things a bit, we'll see...

 

Well, keep you're questions coming as I like to keep my hand in.

That's right, Lode's excellent light and mover tutorials have moved home. They are now at http://www.perilith.com/~lode/tutorials/index.html (he has other tutorials up there as well now!)
 
06/Jul/2001 - 2D Editor Error

This is really starting to get on my wick - so I'm after your help.

Basically there are quite a lot of people out there who when they try to use the Get Current Texture inside the 2D editor it crashes, and I want to know why!

I'm not exactly sure what would help me find out whats wrong but here's some stuff that might.

If after UnrealEd has crashed you could send me a copy of the following files: editor.log, unrealed.ini and unrealtournament.ini, and also tell me what operating system, browser version, UT patch and graphics card you have that would be a good start. Thanks in advance. Email me here

 
16/Jun/2001 - Dispatchers and Rune use my guide

Firstly I through together a quick tutorial on how to do a basic dispatcher. Check it out in the UT editing section here

Secondly the Runegame web site have put a link up to my UnrealEd 2 guide - apparently a lot of people like using UnrealEd 2 so much they make the basic levels in it and then export them to Rune, so there you go.

For those of you who don't know Runegame is the official rune web site (and ed.runegame the official rune editing web site. www.Runegame.com and Ed.Runegame.com

I've had to change search engines as my previous one was about to start charging, so unforuntely it will be off-line until my new engine (FreeFind.com) re-indexes my site. Sorry for the inconvenience. ;-)

25/Feb/2001 - I've Joined a Mod

Yes, I finally succumbed to the heady wonders of mod-dum and found a mod which interested me enough to commit to it. This wont mean I'm any less helpful on my forum or email and hopefully the site will still be kept up to date (and my posts on alt.games.unreal.ed aswell)

The Mod is currently called Field of Battle and is an AD&D class based affair. We have a temporary web-site up at http://members.nbci.com/fieldofbattle. I'm doing the web-site atm and also (unsuprisingly) I'm mapping. More suprisingly I'm also taking a stab at coding the mod until someone better comes along, nothing like jumping in at the deep-end.

Anyway, we've got lots of pictures to show u and a forum for your comments, so check it out.

 

ps. I also said I'd give a quick P1mp to a new mod called Detachment. It's an interesting twist on the usual Terrorist/Couter Terrorist spin so have a peek!

I've just launched some forums, for feedback on the site and for any help... atm you don't even have to register, but if people start messing then i'll put registration in place....

07/Feb/2001 - Offline UnrealEd 2 Guide

I've finally gone and done it, made the UnrealEd 2 guide downloadable.

I decided eventually on Windows HTML Help file format as this was the easiest to do on a regular basis. I haven't quite finished the index/search yet so thats why it is only version 0.5. When it reaches version 1 I will probably date it to keep track of versions.

If any of you out there have been waiting for Black&White and maybe perhaps use winamp then check out the coolest visualisation plugin EVER! http://dance.bwgame.com

To say that it is the most awsome plugin ever is probably not to much!

 
31/Jan/2001 - Netscape solution

Well almost, it looks far from crap now, some stupid margins and padding in my CSS file that IE ignored! Doh! I still think it doesn't look as good in netscape as it does in IE, but then I'm just a bit of a microsoft junkie really (I know I know, but hey its my job!)

Also, I've posted up lots more of my Effects class reference, its nearly complete now, so go check it out...

I just had a look at my site in netscape and quite frankly it looks crap, there are large spaces between all the tables and stuff, yuck!

So If anyone knows why this is or how I can fix it then let me know as soon as possible please!

18/Jan/2001 - New Site Design

Yet again us plebs here at unreality have been 'requested' to change all our banner tags (those annoying things at the top that give you danish adverts, or are they german, I never can tell). Having just recently learnt how to use Dreamweavers template and library features I have taken the opportunity to overhaul the whole site. Hopefully you should stil be able to find everything, and all the links should still work fine. Any problems let me know.

 

Also if anyone has any requests or suggestions for what they would like to see next then feel free to let me know!
