Hi, welcome to my small scripting section.

OK, well to start with I'm a programmer, so learning the UnrealScript basics wasn't much of a challenge, then I did the class references, which got me used to states, triggers, collision detection and a whole host of other features. Finally I have just joined a mod team (more on this later) and have undertaken the task of coding the mod (until someone better comes along) so finally I'm learning about players, replication, game types, mutators, weapons etc.

 
Coding Extracts for your delight
Below I've included a small number of triggers or modifications I've done to existing class that you may find interesting.

PuzzleMaster

This is my take on the Codemaster, but instead of having to press buttons 123 in a given order you have to press buttons 1 and 3. I wrote it for StarMage.
DM Cannon
This is a modified version of the TeamCannon and can be used within Deathmatch games. It can also be triggered on and off etc.
 
Unreal Script Help
For help there are 3places to start. Firstly read the docs at the Unreal Technology site. Secondly go over to Chimeric at PU. Thirdly join the Unreal Scripting mailing list below.
