| Q. How do I view the Textures, the menu item seems to have disappeared |
A. You'll just have to use the icon (looks like a painting) as the
menu item seems to have disappeared. |
| Q. There seem to be some shortcut key conflicts |
A. Correct, they are as follows:-
SHFT+S - Select All Surfaces (Works) and Select Adjacent Slants
(Doesn't)
CTRL+N - New... (Doesn't Work) and Intersect (Doesn't Work)
|
| Q. Some keys crash UnrealEd or don't work |
A. SHFT+G (Select syrface matching groups) crashes UnrealEd
Or with Memory - Doesn't work from Menu, use SHFT+O. |
| Q. Sometimes the tabs do not work correctly, e.g. I change tab and
the old tab is still shown. |
A. This is a known bug in the current version of UnrealEd 2.0. It
has been made better, but still sometimes crops up, especially in
the Surface Properties window. |
| (FIXED 430) Q. I have a problem where
an extra vertex seems to be created when I move the builder brush |
A. A bug, plain and simple. Reporting to Unreal pps now. To recreate,
select 1 or more vertex of the builder brush, deselect the builder
brush and then press Ctrl+Right Mouse to move the builder brush.
I call this the 9th Vertex Wonder!
THIS HAS BEEN FIXED BY REMOVING THE ABILITY
TO MOVE WHOLE BRUSHES WHILE IN VERTEX EDITING MODE!

| (FIXED 430) Q. I cannot use the mouse
at all in the new 425 editor |
A. Disable DirectInput inside UT (go to Preferences->Input->Use
DirectInput). This should fix the problem. |
| (FIXED 430) Q. I cannot create a second
triangle in the 2D editor |
A. Confirmed bug - No fix |
| FIXED(425) Q. Equations
do not work in the edit controls anymore. |
A. This did not make it in time for the first version,
but it will be in the next version. |
| FIXED(425) Q. I cannot access all of
the brush builders because some of them are off the bottom of the
screen. |
A. This version of the editor has a minimum usable resolution of
1024x768. If you are running lower than that, you will have to increase
your Windows resolution. Future versions will have a scrollable
bar on the left side, so this will not be an issue anymore.
|
| FIXED(425) Q. I cannot open any maps/texture
packages/sound packages/etc! |
A. This version of UnrealEd2 cannot handle pathnames that contain
spaces (i.e. "program files"). This is a programming error
that will be corrected in the next version. For now, install UT into
a directory that does not have spaces in its name. |
| FIXED(425) Q. When I try to start the
new editor, I get the following error message: "Cannot find ini:Engine.Engine.Editor
Engine in configuration file". |
A. This is due to the editor trying to use "unreal.ini"
instead of "unrealtournament.ini". This will be corrected
in the next version, but for now you can get around this by copying
your "unrealtournament.ini" on top of your "unreal.ini"
file. |
| FIXED(425) Q. I cannot call up the
surface properties window, or see any actors in the actor class browser! |
A. Something in the code is incompatible with older versions of
the file "\windows\system\comctl32.dll". We are working
on figuring out what the problem is, and the only workaround at
the moment is to get a copy of that file from someone who does not
have this problem and copy it on top of yours.
Alternatively download latest version of comctl32.dll from my download
page HERE
